DUNN FOUNDATION

Grant-making foundation supporting non-profits, educators, communities, and schools across the country who seek to preserve and understand unique community character.

Activities

The Dunn Foundation fulfills its mission to educate people about how the natural growth of our towns and cities has compromised the beauty of these places through increasing public understanding of the contribution community appearance makes to our quality of life, and by linking people to the tools they need to make positive aesthetic changes in their environment. The Foundation seeks to reverse “visual illiteracy,” or an inability to see and understand the intricacies of visual aesthetics. The Foundation primarily works by developing related educational materials, partnering with similar organizations, and creating publications about visual aesthetics and community character.
